to the County-wide Planning Division of the Planning
and Community Development Department.
The Division is responsible
for describing the vision and goals for growth
and the protection and preservation of the County's
natural, environmental and agricultural resources.
The County's vision and
goals are contained in the
General
Plan, which serves as a "constitution"
for land use and development issues.
This division also conducts
special studies on major policy issues (such as
housing, natural resource and open space preservation,
air quality, infrastructure and urban expansion/annexation),
participates in regional planning forums and provides
input and recommendations on pending development
proposals.
