Housing Element Overview
What is a Housing
Element?
The
Sacramento County Housing Element identifies and analyzes existing and
projected housing needs for all income groups as well as implementing action
to address those needs. It is a mandatory element of the general plan and
is required to be updated every 5 years and be reviewed by the State Housing
and Community Development Department.

jurisdiction’s “fair share of the region’s housing need under a
methodology established by state law.
