| Species
Analysis Documents - Updated
The purpose of the individual
species account is to clearly document the conservation
needs of each SSHCP covered species relative to
their occurrence and distribution in the planning
area and to consider the impacts of proposed activities.
The accounts include species-specific conservation
strategies, which provide the basic building blocks
for comprehensive protection.
In addition to providing
baseline information required to secure permits
for the SSHCP, the species accounts will address
ongoing plan implementation issues such as land
management considerations, compliance and effectiveness
monitoring and adaptive management strategies.
Habitat
Analysis Documents - Updated
The purpose of the habitat
accounts is to thoroughly describe the mapped
cover-types, plant communities, and species’
habitats under consideration by the SSHCP Steering
Committee and to document specific strategies
that will be used to assess and conserve habitat
within the SSHCP study area. The accounts will
also address how general habitat-level conservation
strategies contribute to species-specific biological
needs for covered species known to occur in the
habitat. As necessary, additional conservation
strategies will be added to improve the conservation
benefits for species that use the habitat.
