Welcome to the General Plan Update Website
The County’s General
Plan is undergoing its first comprehensive update since it was last adopted
in 1993. This update is necessary to plan for growth in the next planning cycle
(2005-2030) as well as to address new emerging planning issues. Some of the
topics to be addressed in the
Update Project can be found here. Twenty six
Board Workshops, twelve focus groups and ten large community workshops have been
held to date. For information regarding these past events, including Board
workshop staff reports, presentations, and focus group meeting notes, please
visit the Report, Notes and Presentations
and Community Participation web
pages.
Planning Commission Workshops
and Adoption Hearings
A series of preliminary adoption hearings are now being held at the County Planning Commission.
Once the Planning Commission has reviewed and commented on the Draft 2030 General Plan
it will be forwarded to the Board of Supervisors for final adoption hearings. All workshops and public hearings with the Planning Commission will be held
on Mondays at 5:30 p.m. in the Board of Supervisors’ chambers at 700 H Street in downtown
Sacramento. Details regarding hearing dates with the Planning Commission are in
the table below.
The agenda and materials for workshops and hearings will be
posted to this website approximately one week in advance.
